Interdisciplinary Teamwork 

The unique position of the Chiplet Center of Excellence (CCoE) results from the broad technological portfolio of Fraunhofer and the closely interlinked, interdisciplinary cooperation with industry.

For a fast industrialization of the new chiplet technologies in industry, CCoE brings together experts from design, tooling, technology and application along the value chain.

Industrial Partners' Needs as Measure of all Things

All research activities in CCoE are defined, monitored and controlled by the participating industry. This will ensure a clear focus on industrial requirements. Based on these results, partners are able to derive differentiating projects for the development of their own products and technologies.

Our participating industry partners are actively involved. The requirements for their applications determine the focus of the Chiplet Center of Excellence: they define, monitor and control all of the center's research actvitities.

The Chiplet Center of Excellence is embedded in a broad network of partners from the R&D cooperation “Research Fab Microelectronics Germany (FMD)” and benefits from its excellent lab infrastructure as well as  its access to broad technology capabilities. Within the FMD, 11 Fraunhofer Institutes and two Leibniz Institutes bundle its ressources and compentencies since 2017.

The Chiplet Center of Excellence will be connected tightly to the European ECA pilot line “Advanced Heterogeneous System Integration” and it will be aligned with chiplet research activities in the pan-European alliance of research organizations.
